Behold the beauty and splendor
Those shadows can bring!

Kind words and kind deeds.

Set Your Sail Right

Painting comes with a small, laminated tag showing the following:

Oil on Canvass : 56 X 66 cm (with frame)
Painting Title : Set Your Sail Right
Artist : B. Gamonez - Cortejos (Sunny)

Inspired by the poem of E. Wilcox:
One ship sails east and another west
While the selfsame breezes blow
'Tis the set of the sail and not the gale
That bids them where to go.

As the winds of the air are the ways of fate
As we voyage along through life
'Tis the set of the soul that decide your goal
And not the storm and the strife.

Touch Others With Light

Painting comes with a small, laminated tag showing the following:

Acrylic on Canvass: 53 X 66 cm (with frame)
Painting Title: Touch Others With Light
Artist : B. Gamonez-Cortejos (Sunny)

Inspired by the poem of unknown author:

My life shall touch a dozen lives
Before this day is done-
Leave countless marks for good or ill
'Ere sets this evening's sun.

So this the wish I always wish,
The prayer I ever pray;
Let my life help the other lives
It touches by the way.

Climb that Mountain

Painting comes with a small, laminated tag showing the following:

Oil on Canvass : 70 X 86 cm (with frame)
Painting Title : Climb that Mountain
Artist : B. Gamonez-Cortejos (Sunny)

Inspired by the quotes from the essay of D.B.Berg - Mountain Man

If you have to climb a mountain
You have to have the feeling that
it's worth dying for.
Any mountain:
The mountain of accomplishment;
The mountain of obstacles and difficulty.
Any mountain has to be worth braving
wind and cold and storm - symbolic of adversities.

Beaten paths are for beaten men
But mountain peaks are for the mighty pioneers!
Pioneers must have:
Vision - Vision to see what no one else can see;
Faith - Faith to believe in things that no one else believes;
Initiative - Initiative to be the first one to try it; and
Courage - the guts to see it through.

Race to the Finish

This painting comes with a small, laminated tag showing the following:

Oil on Canvass: 65 X 80 cm (with frame)
Painting Title : Race to the Finish
Artist : B. Gamonez-Cortejos (Sunny)

Inspired by the poem of Frank Stanton -
Don't Give Up:

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
when the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must - but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow -
You might succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victor's cup.
And he learned too late when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out -
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt -
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit-
It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit.
