Face the Sunshine

Painting comes with a small, laminated tag showing the following:

Oil on Canvass : 52 X 66 cm
66 X 78 cm (with frame)
Painting Title : Face the Sunshine
Artist : B. Gamonez - Cortejos (Sunny)

Inspired by the quote of Helen Keller (deaf and blind her whole life)

Keep your eyes to the sunshine
And you cannot see the shadows!

Thoughts from artist:
When at times you cannot help
but face the shadows,
Fear not! Open your eyes and
Behold the beauty and splendor
Those shadows can bring!

Comments:
Such talent...sigh! You really did manage to get the reflection to look real...
I miss the "soya bean" rocks though...hehe

The reflection is great, and captures such detail. Wow, amazing!

Ia, the soya beans turned into bread! ha!

Thank you so much, Gabe, whoever you are, for taking the time to give your comments. I greatly appreciate it.

Gosh, I'm new with this blogging! Iaaaaaaa!!!!!!! And I didn't realize that everytime I make a comment my avatar shows up too. By the way, for those who don't know me. I'm the female part of my avatar, just in case you can't tell by my name because my names "Sunny and Badette" happen to be used by either male and female. That handsome guy is my hubby- Paul (Pankie to others!). I figured, spouses are supposed to be halves of the other, so I put up a picture with a whole of me! Ha! Corny? Well, actually I couldn't find any recent decent solo photo of mine where I didn't make goofy faces. This photo was taken Dec 2005.

Such a work of art. Please show us location of the laminated panel given the perspective of the whole painting itself.

Wonder, may be the tag would cover the whole frame itself...

What about engraving same in stone... in the drawing itself. Mirrored like...

WOW mommy, this is the fist time I get to see this painting finished.......it looks incredible.....the reflection and the water look so real......love you

Las, the laminated tags of my paintings are just attached outside the frame and can be dettached and stuck around any side of the frame. I usually make them small and just enough for people to read. Depending on the lenght of the text - the tags usually are around 4 X 5 inches.

And,oh boy, engraving (painting)the text onto the stone would be quite a challenge! Making the text appear mirror-like (I assume - you mean - the reverse reflection!) - wow, that would really be a feat! It's a very interesting concept though and I might just do this someday on another painting with a shorter text attachment! Thank you so much though for your innovative idea, Douglas!

My sweet Natalie, you always have been (together with your sis)my ever good critic! I guess, the blog is written and for others to see so you only say the positive ones, huh. Ok, I understand! Please continue telling me about the "Need to be Improved" aspects of my work though. I need your artistic skill to improve.

Ajjan Prayad, the National artist of Thailand,(Excuse me - modesty aside, my friends! - since this is about my daughter!) have mentioned to me many times that you should nurture your artistic talent too. He said that you are very, very exceptionally talented! So, what about taking that to heart, Nat?

I just wanted to say that you're an ABSOLUTELY AWESOME painter!!!!! Now I know where your daughters get their artistic abilities from. If I ever want to see quality paintings, I know which website to go to!!!! Love you!

Thank you so much, anonymous! I give God the glory for whatever good that gets done through me. I think I know who you are.
